chris basey Posted 16 April , 2005 Share Posted 16 April , 2005 I have just discovered 'The Times Digital Archive' (1785 to 1985) which is proving to be quite addictive! As a result of a search for Norfolk Regiment men I came across this item in the 22nd May 1917 edition. CWGC provided details of the man named Biggs who is buried, like so many who died in German captivitiy, at Hamburg. I couldn't resist looking for the last resting place of Petty Office Davey of HMS Maori whose bizzare death is also mentioned. Can't find anything though - anyone any thoughts, please? Pretty gruesome reading.
KONDOA Posted 16 April , 2005 Share Posted 16 April , 2005 It seems to be working again OK. Lost it at 9:45 this morning. Worth finding a copy of: "No Heroes No Cowards" by Hawtin Mundy He describes various POW experiences. Roop
