The records shows that he was a steward!? Surely there would not have been a steward on a fishing vessel at that time?

Nice to see your recent posts - welcomed and surely will assist your research.  :)

As for this question perhaps @MerchantOldSalt might be able to assist.

wouldn't mind trying to get hold of this book.

The original is held by National Archives and requires a visit to see it.

Findmypast seem to have scanned a lot of pages and these come up on a search. But needs a subscription.

Thanks, Charlie. I subscribe to FMP and have found some of the pages. Very interesting book. Been updating my family history today only to find some more relatives that died in WW1 and also WW2. The last one I found, George Albert Eastick (my grandfather's brother) died at St Omer Pas De Calais France on 30 Jun 1918. I doubt if there was a family during that time that didn't lose someone!

Steve, If you are looking for info on him then for simplicity and clarity it would probably be best to start a new thread for him.  [Cross-referencing of various threads is then possible]

I don't he was in any service in WW2. It is possible that around that time, he was deemed to be unfit to serve after WW1 as he suffered greatly from what we now know as PTSD.

Though WW2 not for the GWF you might like to try WW2 Talk http://ww2talk.com

I'm puzzled why he was on The National Archives' reference BT 395/1/27761 ??

But for elsewhere to discuss.

Good luck

Thanks, for that. I think someone else mentioned them before. I believe I registered with the a couple of days ago, but never asked a question. Will keep this site updated on progress with JWA if I find out anymore.
