familyhistoryman Posted 27 November , 2023 Share Posted 27 November , 2023 Hi, I need help in identifying the uniform in these two photo. Both show William Entwistle of Darwen. Could it be the King's Liverpool or the Manchester regiment?
Admin Michelle Young Posted 27 November , 2023 Admin Share Posted 27 November , 2023 I’d say East Lancashire Regiment. It’s definitely not Manchesters or KLR in my humble opinion. Let’s see what @FROGSMILE and @CorporalPunishment think.

Yes I think it’s East Lancashire Regiment too. 👍 In the photo of two men his friend has three wound stripes (one for each occasion rather than individual wound) and needs a shave. Their dress (caps, belts, haversack and bayonet) and timeworn appearance suggests a later period in the war after the Summer of 1916.
