Hello CheshireRifles.

Find My Past Newspapers hold 'The Stalybridge Reporter' which covers news of the 6th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment, and maybe of use to your research. I have attached three articles where officers from this battalion are featured as example.

Saturday, December 5th, 1914 - Captain Robert Gimson.

Saturday, January, 29, 1916 regarding Second - Lieutenant Percy Marshall

Saturday, September 16, 1916 - Captain R Kirk

Gunner 87

another photo of Captain Kirk, courtesy Royal Bank of Scotland.

IIRC there are some photos in John Hartley's book on 6th Cheshires and in the pamphlet "Stockport Lads Together"

That’s a great image. Thank you for sharing. Love the different type of headdress he is wearing.   Need a copy of that book.

both are available from that well-known auction site - the pamphlet is reasonably priced compared to elsewhere (if you can find a copy that is!)
