His is Father of Charles Moorcroft, KIA, MM, 141346

But just found out he may have served and this picture I have been sent has been labelled as being Richard Moorcroft

Part of my website research

Thanks

John

I’d say Loyal North Lancs.

A search of the Medal Rolls and Medal Index Cards only brings up two men of this name:

#16468 -- King's Liverpool Regiment

#85925 -- MGC

Entries do not show any link to the Loyal North Lancs

Looks a little advanced in years.
He might have served at home only, thus not entitled to any medals.

It’s definitely a Loyals badge, so I think that you’re probably correct.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

I think that it's been labeled wrong and maybe someone else

I've contacted the relative to see if I can get further information

Cheers

John

There would also be no record of LNLR in the Medal Rolls/ Index Cards if he had been in the LNLR at some point, but transferred to another regiment before going overseas.

The picture above, which I have recently found, confuses things more

Supposedly Richard Moorcroft, 3rd picture from left in December 1915

Can't see the cap badge very well either!

But read the text and then look at the other cap badges and I now have more to untangle as it says they are all in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, clearly a mistake.
