1, the risk of death was higher among the subjects with albuminuria than among those without albuminuria in the same stage of DKD. This trend was observed in subcategories of the circulatory system, such as hypertensive disorder, ischemic heart disease, and cerebrovascular disease.6 Jan 2023

Albuminuria is a known predictor of all-cause and cardiovascular (CV) mortality (1,2). Thus, the importance of albuminuria has been emphasized and monitoring of albuminuria is recommended in patients who are high risk, such as those with diabetes mellitus (DM) or CKD (3,4).

Albumin is a blood protein, and albuminuria = blood protein is appearing in the urine.

A bad sign, usually of kidney disease, but also symptomatic of other things.
