Andrew P Posted 15 April , 2005 Share Posted 15 April , 2005 On the 15th of April 1917 No.934 Sgt George Kirkpatrick MM of the 17th Battalion was killed while helping to stop the German advance at Lagnicourt. He was recommended for the VC but it was not awarded. In 1916 he was awarded the MM for his actions at Pozieres. His death was a great loss to the 17th Battalion.
