Great War Truck Posted 10 October , 2023 Share Posted 10 October , 2023 After having said several times that we would not buy any more 1914-1918 vehicles we relented and bought at auction a 1916 Crossley Tender for restoration. This one was recovered from a scrap yard in 1981 and has been through the hands of several owners, but no real work has happened to it in that time. There are i think nine survivors worldwide, with two going from the UK to New Zealand in recent years and one in Australia. One of course in Hendon, one in Ireland, and the rest in private ownership. Quite a lot needs doing to it, but it is mostly there. Some parts will present a challenge but nothing we cant do. I have located a parts book, but i wonder if anybody might have a manual which i could copy? We have joined the Crossley register who have an archive of documents, a lot of which is unsorted, which will be our next port of call. There are also additional documents at Manchester Science museum which i will need to visit. Can anybody help with a manual or other documents please?
