The plate with the holes look like break off washers.

I had a quick look on google and the only reference I can find lists the company as “maltsters and brewers”. I can’t imagine what the plate is from.

An Iron/ Engineering Works located on the Humber Road, Beeston, Nottinghamshire. What the Plate is from I have no idea but I do believe they were manufacturing engines including pumps.

Kind regards,

Chris

That sounds more like it . It did say maltsters and brewers, perhaps brewing to keep the workers oblivious of their poor wages and conditions!

Can be a pallet for a trench water pump.

I'd say it was a DC generator plate.  This guess is based on the info on the plate which shows it rotates at 1250 RPM and it can put out 60 volts (voltage) at 60 amps (current) . Now I'm stretching it ....... the claimed power output is 6.5 Horse Power and power = voltage x current so in todays money 60volts x 60amps = 3600 Watts?

Yes.

1 HP is approx 750W, so 6.5HP is around 4.8KW. Difference is probably accounted by whether the figures are inputs or outputs.
Yes a generator probably, or the reverse, an electric motor for a pump.

Could the location not far from an underground entrance be a clue?
In addition, in the same position, I had found a British telephone clapper
