The Monument of Kuk Artillery Battery Nr 36 at Seddülbahir

Austria Hungary had 2 artillery batteries at Gallipoli at the order of 5th Ottoman Turkish Army during October 1915-Jan 1916. Before leaving the front the 36th erected a monument at Seddülbahir for the memory of their service. Unfortunately the monument was destroyed  after the Mundros Agrement when British and French  occupied the straits.

A new monument was erected to the immortal momories of hungarian artillery soldiers who fought by the side of Turks at Gallipoli againts the Entente forces in 1915 on Oct 25th 2022. The monument was opened by hungarian defence minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky and turkish defence minister General (R) Hulusi Akar in presence of many military atteshes of friendly nations. I am very proud if I had a little contribution to the momories of hungarian soldiers. After long years of working and searching I was able to convince the two governments for to erect a monument. Unfortunately I was sick at that day so that my son Dr. Emre Saral took part in the ceremony.
