MerchantOldSalt Posted 29 September , 2023 Share Posted 29 September , 2023 Russ Here is a picture of the EXCHANGE owned at the time of her sinking by the Manchester, Liverpool and North Wales Steamship Company (R R Clark) of 4 Albert Buildings, 12 Preeson's Row, Liverpool and was a coaster in the Home Trade. Built by William Thomas of Amlwch 1884 and registered in Liverpool. Gross Tonnage 279, single screw 50 Horse Power compound steam engine. Length 135 feet. She had a few owners over the years She bears the company badge of cross halberds on her black funnel, the house flag was blue with the same device in white. There are two crew lists from 1915 for the EXCHANGE but Joseph Jones was not on her in that year. He was Mate of the EXCHANGE and 26 years old..
