Dirty Harry Posted 22 September , 2023 Share Posted 22 September , 2023 Hello, I have some of the infantry regiment but like the British Army I’m looking for the the higher formations but I’m struggling to find really anything. I’m looking for the start of 1916 up to the Somme. is there any place I should be looking? thank you, paul
charlie2 Posted 23 September , 2023 Share Posted 23 September , 2023 Have you looked at the official history? https://digi.landesbibliothek.at/viewer/toc/AC01858814/1/LOG_0000/ Charlie

My O Level German is bit rusty to say the least, so im working my way through it, very slowly. Iy gives a good overview, and i also have the Bavarian overview, it was more to get a grasp of the Army and Corps level detail. Danke, Paul
charlie2 Posted 24 September , 2023 Share Posted 24 September , 2023 Paul If you can be a bit more specific as to what you are hoping to find it might be possible to make other suggestions. German Divisional and Corps histories are very very few and far between. Charlie
Dirty Harry Posted 24 September , 2023 Author Share Posted 24 September , 2023 Oh dear more specially the sixth army, Bavarian 1 and 2Corps and their Divisions. had thought might get Jonathan Boff’s book on the Sixth, but I’m not sure. Had also seen Prince Rupprecht two volume accounts, again not sure as it’s a bit rare and tad pricey ***
charlie2 Posted 25 September , 2023 Share Posted 25 September , 2023 Here is a list of printed literature relating to Divisions, it contains very little for the Bavarian Divisions. http://www.grensland-docs.nl/brondocumenten/divisionsgeschichten-1914-1918/
