Frank Luke jr

American Ace, nickname "the Arizona Balloonbuster"

19 victories (kills) on his name, most balloons.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona USA, died near Murvaux France

One of two pilots that received the Medal of Honour.

Still he rememberd in the USA.

The US Airforce named Airbase as honour to him. Luke AFB, it is near Phoenix. I visit that base several times.

In Pima Air Museum they have a little collection about him.

And the two planes that this year shot down the Chinese (weather or spy) balloon had callsigns "Luke01" and "Luke02"

This year i went to his grave and put a little wooden cross between the flags.

I've visited Romagnes a few times and seen Luke's grave, but I don't think my photos are as good as this one. Well remembered.

Pete.
