Greetings from an old outlaw

I would like to ask an opinion of you good folk.

I have seen a WW1 pair of medals which I am interested in buying . A War and Victory to

1066 Pte Edward Shutt 12th West Yorks, then 10th West Yorks ,then 926 Lab.Corps 419092

then 44th (Garrison ) Royal Fusiliers GS/110823.

The problem is that included with them is a S.W.B. Number 8143778 and I can find no record

of him receiving it. I am at this time unable to research further than the Ancestry Library Edition.

The items look like they have been together for ever and I would hate to refuse them if they are correct

So any opinion would be much appreciated.

Old Robin Hood.

Just now, IPT said:

I couldn't find a badge number of 8143778, but I did find B143778, which belonged to 127283 Firth Moorhouse, RFA.

Could it be a B?

My findings as well

Greetings IPT and Allan

Thank you very much for the information.

This morning I went for a second look at the medals and the S.W.B.

The S.W.B .number is quite badly stamped but closer inspection clearly showed that I had misread it.

it was indeed B143778 and not 8143778 . Thanks to you a costly mistake has been averted .

Again very many thanks .
