tankengine888 Posted 6 September Share Posted 6 September Listed age 21 on embarkation so I think Buster's hit the nail on the head perfectly! I presume then that his First World War record was amalgamated with his RAAF dossier Also found trove articles, possibly him? https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/56947374?searchTerm="Flt Lt McLaughlin" https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/147862141?searchTerm="Flying Officer McLaughlin" Zidane
stevenbecker Posted 6 September Author Share Posted 6 September Yes that's him alright his son is recorded as Mclauglan and Mclaughlin in the ANA But still no WWI or WWII record for his father William Henry McLaughlin Nice to be able to confirm the AFC angle, that's a good start. Cheers

tankengine888 Posted 6 September Share Posted 6 September Timed out session buster. I think it's just a merged record. You often see WW1 records merged with WW2 records because they're the same man. Because McLaughlin stayed to just after Korea, his record is not digitised with the rest of the WW1 or WW1 records (unless someone paid for it). When I tried a WW2 + Korea (Army) bloke, his record was held in a state library I think in Melbourne... Zidane.
