I cycled up to this famous hilltop viewpoint equipped with binoculars and Google Earth.......to try to identify the many key Somme battlefield locations arrayed below. Although it was a rewarding exercise (recommended).....it is also somewhat frustrating. There isn't quite enough elevation to see as much as I hoped. Aveluy Wood is a major visual obstacle.
