Kwc27122 Posted 15 August , 2023 Share Posted 15 August , 2023 Hello all, I thought I would just show my 1917 dated Webley. A friend of mine gave me a box of parts, he said that he didn’t know what it was other than it was a pistol. Well, I got it assembled and now all I need is the proper mainspring. I welcome all comments. Btw, it does have the shaved cylinder unfortunately .
Thewebleyman Posted 16 August , 2023 Share Posted 16 August , 2023 It looks okay. A bit of pitting on the trigger guard but its not that surprising given its age. Shame about the cylinder having been messed around with.
reese williams Posted 17 August , 2023 Share Posted 17 August , 2023 If you plan on shooting it please read this thread https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/britishmilitariaforums/caution-re-455-revolvers-altered-to-shoot-45-acp-a-t9296.html 45 Auto Rim cases reloaded with Webley loading dies and 265 grain lead hollow based bullets from the RCBS mold will get you where you want to be. DO NOT use factory loaded 45ACP ammo.
Kwc27122 Posted 17 August , 2023 Author Share Posted 17 August , 2023 Yes, I have read that factory loaded .45 acp is too hot for these revolvers. I do living history mainly and will only be using blanks for demonstrations.
