Arthur Knight

I'm trying to find out any information on Arthur Thomas Knight, originally Royal Engineers, then RFC/RAF, shown as 'fit to be pilot/observer, and at some point made Honorary 2nd Lieutenant. Service no. (Looks like) 113172 - see attached.

Thanks for any help that can be given.

His AIR 76 officer's personnel record has been digitized and is available for free, after first registering an account if you do not have one already, from the National Archives.

I'm not turning up anything else for him in the usual places like casualtyforms.org or the RAF Museum Storyvault.

He does, however, have a very interesting medal index card, showing stints in the Royal Engineers (service # 113172), the RFC (service # 318593), the RAMC (service # 57535), and then finally back to the RAF (service # 319348). If he had been commissioned there would normally also be a notation of this on the medal index card, but there is nothing on his card.

A search of the Royal Air Force, Airmen's Service Records 1912-1939 collection on Findmypast brings up a hit for an A T Thomas with service # 319348, but nothing for the earlier RFC service number. If you have full access to Findmypass there may well be more in the file.
