Ww1 Halifax Courier now freely available online

Hi, I’m not sure if I’m posting in the right place, but the Halifax Courier (West Yorkshire, England) have now digitised all the WW1 editions of the newspaper, and they are freely available online to be read and searched at https://www.calderdale.gov.uk/wtw/sources/themes/world-war-one.html

I hope this can help someone.

Thanks for sharing

had a quick look and there is more info than you see in many papers so should be a good resource

No problem. I’ve found it an invaluable resource. Wish more newspapers would do the same. Malcom Bull’s Calderdale companion is also very useful. He works very hard to maintain the website as I’ve found when sending him new entries I’ve come across in my research. It also covers - as does the Courier - as far out as Todmorden, Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd (locally pronounced as Ma-them-Roy-d) and Sowerby Bridge (pronounced Sorby), Illingworth and Rishworth, so stretches out quite a distance.
