"During the interval, ca. 20:15, "Leah Broad talks to Petroc Trelawny about the life and work of Dora Pejačević, born into Hungarian-Croatian aristocracy at the end of the 19th century and who blazed a trail for Croatian music."

After the interval, ca. 20:40, "Dora Pejačević’s Symphony in F sharp minor, richly scored and resplendent with brass. Composed during the First World War, when Pejačević worked as a nurse, the work receives its Proms premiere by Sakari Oramo and the BBC Symphony Orchestra following their critically acclaimed recording."

(The first half, commencing 19:30, consists of Johannes Brahms: Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat major.)

Her music is widely played on Australia's ABC Classic FM, deservedly so.

Good to know! In the Proms interval yesterday they were commenting how little-known she is in the UK.
