A tale of two brothers - Help in interpreting pension index card

Two brothers - 1 is MGC and killed in action clearly, but what happened to 2? Is that POW ? and what does W/S mean ? Any help gratefully received guys.

as the writing on the side says, While Serving, the after discharge would probably apply if he returned home and died of wounds or sickness and would use A/D
