I understand that the British Army on the Western Front switched from summer time to winter time at 1am on 8th October 1917. A note in a 2nd Anzac Intelligence Summary suggests that German forces switched on the night of 9th/10th October - can anyone verify this?

You could check out  the links which follow

During the First World War, unoccupied France and Belgium were in the same time zone as Great Britain, (Greenwich Mean Time). Germany was one hour ahead (GMT+1), as were the German occupied areas of France and Belgium. Germany first introduced Daylight Saving time Sunday, 30 April 1916, 23:00:00 when clocks were forwarded one hour. France followed on Wednesday, 14 June 1916, 23:00:00 pm when clocks were forwarded 1 hour.

Thanks Maureen. Unfortunately the UK data for 1917 doesn‘t match the British forces time change on the Western Front, so I can‘t rely on the German data either.
