Help needed please, the title says it all, does any one have (or know where I can trace) a photo of the above pilot?

 

He died on the 4th Feb 1916 after crashing in BE 2C 2091 on the 31st of Jan.

There are 5 Penn-Gaskell officer service records at Kew Search results: penn-gaskell | The National Archives 

The question is how many in the RFC/RAF and according to FMP there was only the one so it would most likely be your man.

A search of the Great Britain, Royal Aero Club Aviators’ Certificates, 1910-1950 collection on Ancestry brings up his name, and it appears that a copy of the photograph that would have been taken for his certificate is available there if you have full access to Ancestry. I unfortunately no longer do, so I can't tell you anymore.

Many thanks for this, unfortunately I'm also no longer on Ancestry - but I believe they sometimes have an 'open weekend' where non-members have access to their details, usually a bank holiday weekend.

 

So I will keeping an eye open for the next one.
