stripeyman Posted 30 July , 2023 Share Posted 30 July , 2023 I took this photo in the Ypres area 41 years ago. It shows the late Maurice Hall, ex Cpl 5/8 Kings. However I am not saying where it is, comments gladly accepted.

stripeyman Posted 1 August , 2023 Author Share Posted 1 August , 2023 Spot on ! The modern view looks very clinical devoid of any character, the relentless change of the Western Front.....

Dai Bach y Sowldiwr Posted 24 September , 2023 Share Posted 24 September , 2023 Great War veterans usually look much older than their years in photographs, but this man could easily pass for a man several decades younger couldn't he?
stripeyman Posted 24 September , 2023 Author Share Posted 24 September , 2023 Do you mean Maurice in the photograph ? He was born 1940..........
Aurel Sercu Posted 25 September , 2023 Share Posted 25 September , 2023 I agree with 303man. It took me a split second to think : Must be Railway Wood (next to the road Hellfire Corner - A19, or north of Menin Road). However I am nut sure, as I see no other landscape features corroborating this. Aurel
