David_Bluestein Posted 10 April , 2005 Share Posted 10 April , 2005 I am interested in any history related to 'Woods Cemetery' in Belgium. I understand from the CWGC web site that it was started by the 1st Dorset’s and 1st East Surrey Regt’s. My interest comes as result of researching a Pte. of the 1st East Surrey Regt. Killed in May 1915, and buried here. I was surprised that this soldier actually has a grave, as most killed during the 2nd Battle of Ypres seem not too. If any members have any further information, or photographs of this cemetery I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance, David Canada
Aurel Sercu Posted 10 April , 2005 Share Posted 10 April , 2005 David, All I know about Woods Cemetery Zillebeke is from Michael Scott, and that probably is the same as what CWGC says. (But I'll have a look after this.) Meanwhile a photo. I have three more, and can email the four of them in their original format. (350 to 500 kB) Do you have broadband ? Let me know (off Forum) what your email address is. I think I have it, but maybe after 2 or more years you have changed ? Aurel
