Mattr82 Posted 10 July , 2023 Share Posted 10 July , 2023 (edited) It will be a C 1 over A. These are inspection marks unique to each inspector of the bayonets etc. 4th Gordon’s is your expert on these particular rifles and bayonets so hopefully he will be along so to give you all the better details etc. Edited 10 July , 2023 by Mattr82

shippingsteel Posted 10 July , 2023 Share Posted 10 July , 2023 So these are technically British inspection markings, even though on a US produced bayonet. The Patt.1913 bayonet was made to attach to the British designed Patt.1914 rifle. So as mentioned the marking is Crown/C1/A where the A indicates a British inspector based in America. This is the common type inspection mark found on the Patt.1913, however some of the very early ones have an E which were stamped by the original inspectors at the factory, which were seconded from RSAF Enfield in England.
