visits outside Somme within 2 hours.

Planning another March trip to Somme and wondering if any relevant places to visit say within 2 hours of Albert, done Wellington tunnels Notre Dam, Debra, etc 

Any suggestions??

Thanks have battleground book for that area , any particular places to go , we love field walking?

Chemin des Dames is fascinating. A visit to Caverne des Dragons is well worthwhile.

Or, just go for a field walk, say Contalmaison-Pozieres-Thiepval area, look at the landscapes and get a feeling for the events there.

Hi Peter done that walk several times over the past 22 years, but still great!

Kirky, I just follow the walks in the books, Le hamel and Villers Brettoneux,etc, do not do Amiens though..drove through there in May and still not sure how I did not kill anyone whilst I got lost in Amiens..

Thanks yes visited Amiens but on the train from Albert a lovely city though
