He’d already served 21 years in the RGA but joined the Gloucestershire regiment (2nd Battalion) early in the war. He was 44 years old when he was killed (GWCG says 42) and is now buried in Chapelle d’Armentières old military cemetery. He was my great grandmother’s brother.
