Remembered Today:

US Army divisional patch?

I agree with Acknown that it appears to show a patch for the 81st Division.  Although most records show this as a black wildcat on a dark khaki background there were seemingly a variety of colours used for the cloth patches worn on uniforms.  See: https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/223866-star-and-indian-head-insignia-of-the-2nd-infantry-division-aef/page/2/

I don't know, but here's something I found online: https://www.angelfire.com/md2/patches/intro/Intro3.html. 81st (Wildcat) Division.

Acknown

I am inclined to agree that matches 81st Div.  I was a bit thrown by representations with darker-coloured 'wildcat', whereas this patch has lighter-coloured one, but the references goven would seem to put this to rest.

Excellent, I suspect that the different colours had meaning according to arm-of-service, or unit.

The very light coloured wildcat seen on your original B&W photo seems to suggest that the two men are from the 161st Infantry Brigade.
