help with regiment

Can anyone help?

I have been trying to find out my partner's grandfather's ww1 records, i.e his regiment, number etc. I contacted the Veterans Agency, who very kindly contacted me and sent me a copy of a document the details at the top said Pension Form 26D

It has Surname Taylor regtl. No 303474, Christian name William James, regiment LC (WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?) then 11/m/263724

other Regts. ASC (WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?)

dischd 27/2/19 admtd 24/11/19 Chelsea No MNK 52572

Then gives address.

I know that grandad served at Winwick Hospital (Lord Derby War Hospital) and was living there when he married in 1919.

How can I tell from the info above that this is my partner's grandfather?

I am still none the wiser as to which regiment Grandad was in, all help appreciated.

LC is Labour Corps, sort of a WW1 equivalent of the "Pioneer Corps".

ASC is the Army Service Corps, WW1 equivalent of the modern "Logistics Corps".

I think ASC stands for Army Service Corps. Not sure what LC stands for. You should be able to find what medals he was awarded on the Public Record Office website from his Medal Index Card along with a few other details but if they hold his service record you will have to visit Kew yourself. Hope this helps
