RFT Posted 25 May , 2023 Share Posted 25 May , 2023 Can anyone provide me with the full name of this airman and the squadrons (if any) in which he served. Any other supporting info would be good. Thanks Rob

RFT Posted 25 May , 2023 Author Share Posted 25 May , 2023 Hello Ray, and thank you very much indeed for your response. Not only his name but now a photo of the man himself - I most certainly wasn't expecting this to turn up! I'm hoping that someone will respond with more details on his possible links to an RAF squadron in 1919/20 (possibly 47 Squadron). I don't have access to RAF service records and am certainly not asking anyone to furnish me with same, however I would like some details on movements if anyone can oblige. How did you come by the photo and is Walter Sutton a relative of yours? Incidentally, would you object to me downloading these images for my archive? Best regards, Rob

RFT Posted 25 May , 2023 Author Share Posted 25 May , 2023 Superb results - Thank you horatio2 I most certainly did not have the entry in the RAF Muster Roll. My thanks also to Grobby for the detailed info. This certainly puts this one to bed for me. I eagerly await the response from RaySearching to establish if Walter Sutton is indeed a relative of his. Am truly grateful to all who have contributed to this topic. Best regards Rob

Matlock1418 Posted 25 May , 2023 Share Posted 25 May , 2023 (edited) Walter SUTTON, 155451, RAF Pension index card for a disability claim Image thanks to WFA/Fold3 8/- pw was the 20% disability rate for a Class V serviceman at that date in 1919. The award seems to have been only temporary [with only a short period in 1920 showing on the card] and the claim was considered DEAD, 22/11/28 [In or certainly by that date] 3 hours ago, RaySearching said: 1939 printers machine minder 81 Keyford Somerset died 1950 He doesn't seem to have moved far by the time of his death! RFT Posted 25 May , 2023 Author Share Posted 25 May , 2023 (edited) Nine hours ago, when I first posted this topic, the only information I held on Walter Sutton was his surname, and RAF serial number. I never realised so much would appear over a short space of time. My thanks to all who contributed. Best regards Rob Edited 25 May , 2023 by RFT Updated.
