Remembered Today:

Hanged soldier named Hudson

Someone has emailed me asking for help with some family history, and the key question is a real teaser.

Five brothers of the Hudson family, all from Aston near Birmingham. Regiments unknown but possibly Warwicks or South Staffords. Names Alfred, Arthur, Robert, Samuel and William.

One of them believed to have been hanged for the murder of a bullying Sergeant. Three man hanged for the incident, the other two names being unknown. Hanging possibly took place in or near Leeds.

The questions are

- which Hudson?

- when?

- who were the others?

Come on Forum, you can do it!

A William Hudson was hanged on 12th May 1903 in Manchester. No further details. No crime listed nor any reference to military.
