Allan1892 Posted 2 May , 2023 Share Posted 2 May , 2023 One of the men that I am looking at was a regular soldier at the outbreak of WW1 - I am told that he had served in South Africa (1899 - 1901) - can anyone point me to where I can find the medal rolls. Ancestry does have them but only gives name; service number; rank and regiment / unit. It directs you to a third party site where you have to register and pay to see the rolls. I'm sure that in the past, I have visited a site where you can see the medals awarded and the campaigns involved. Does anyone know of the site that I have mentioned. I’ll see if I can find something on another site I’ve never seen this info on a free site unless they are buried some where in the national archives which are still free
