Mansell Posted 27 April , 2023 Share Posted 27 April , 2023 Hello, I'm trying to upload an old photo of a former trench positions taken by my grandfather in the 60's but keep getting 'error 200'. Could anybody help me to resolve this? Thank you. Howard

Admin spof Posted 27 April , 2023 Admin Share Posted 27 April , 2023 It is an issue related to the server. Try again a little later to see if that helps. Glen GWF Admin Team

Coldstreamer Posted 27 April , 2023 Share Posted 27 April , 2023 Maybe size matters …. I’ll fetch my coat File rejected was over 2 mb this was 200 ish kb , considerably smaller On the British medal forum you get error messages if you try to load anything too big

To my eyes, this photo looks like a 'double exposure' (not sure if that's the correct term). But what is clearly visible is the corrugated sheeting and at least two steel helmets on posts, grave-marker style (I think I see a third) but does anybody see a German and a British helmet? I would have thought that by the time this photo was taken any such grave-marker from the Great War would have long been discovered and formally addressed? Is that reasonable? If so, does it suggest the helmets are WW2 relics? Thank you for any thoughts.
Dai Bach y Sowldiwr Posted 28 April , 2023 Share Posted 28 April , 2023 Yes, certainly a brodie and a stahlhelm. Am I seeing (German?) writing on a sign, bottom left? Fascinating picture, it could have been taken in any part of the countryside in any country anytime in the last century. Hard to imagine it was once a hard fought over derelict landscape only a few decades before. Nature's powers of regeneration are amazing.
