Malcolm Linham Posted 25 April , 2023 Share Posted 25 April , 2023 I will be taking a holiday soon based in the Dartford area, primarily with a view to visit Chatham Historic dockyard and the Royal Engineers museum. Are there any other little gems in the area that I am not aware of. Cheers Malcolm

Ilbury Welsh Posted 25 April , 2023 Share Posted 25 April , 2023 I always enjoyed Upnor Castle when I lived in Kent. Still remember the smell in there. John
Longboat Posted 26 April , 2023 Share Posted 26 April , 2023 Malcolm If you're visiting Chatham the Naval Memorial gives fine views over the Medway. Just check the opening times https://www.cwgc.org/visit-us/find-cemeteries-memorials/cemetery-details/142000/chatham-naval-memorial/ Stuart

sassenach Posted 26 April , 2023 Share Posted 26 April , 2023 If you run out of things to do, there is always Churchill's former home, Chartwell. Or the Bluewater Shopping Centre.

Steve Goodall Posted 7 May , 2023 Share Posted 7 May , 2023 Stow Maries WW1 Airfield is only 40 mins from the Dartford Crossing. Quite an interesting little museum to visit.
Malcolm Linham Posted 7 May , 2023 Author Share Posted 7 May , 2023 Steve Thank you for the information, I was lucky enough to visit Stow Maries about 2 years ago for one of their special events. Unfortunately due to some bad planning on my part I will miss their wings and wheels event this year. Malcolm
