PJS Posted 22 April , 2023 Share Posted 22 April , 2023 Can anyone please help me understand the exact meaning of the below entry in the Indian Army List for DAQMG. Specifically, I am trying to understand exactly what: (Lv., ex I., m. c., 6m.. 9 Mar. 22) means. I take it to mean that Capt. Irwin is officiating for the real DAQMG, Lt.-Col Gill, while he is on six months leave which commenced on 9 Mar, 1922 (this is from the April 1922 List). But what about the rest of it? ex I., m. c., Thank You Peter
Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 22 April , 2023 Share Posted 22 April , 2023 Dear Peter, Ex-I (out of India) , m.c. (medical card), 6 m. (six months) to 9 March 1922. Kindest regards, Kim.
PJS Posted 22 April , 2023 Author Share Posted 22 April , 2023 Thank you Kim. So, "medical card" would imply that it was some kind of sick leave I presume. Not exactly a holiday. Peter
Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 22 April , 2023 Share Posted 22 April , 2023 Dear Peter, Quite. But such entries are wide-spread. Kindest regards, Kim.
