Guest Joe R. Posted 7 April , 2005 Share Posted 7 April , 2005 Whenever I have searched the 35th's divisional history I am told that they took part in the Battle of Albert but whenever I search the Battle of Albert I can never find any mention of the 35th division. Can anyone tell me which is correct please?
Paul Reed Posted 7 April , 2005 Share Posted 7 April , 2005 They were not on the Somme on 1st July. Some units from the division entered the Somme area on 2nd July, but not the battlefield. Most didn't get to the Albert area until about 14th July, and did not enter the battle for several days.
