Remembering Archibald Stansfield BELANEY, 415259, 13th (Montréal) Battalion, Black Watch C. E. F.

Born 18th September 1888. Died 13th April 1938. Fur trapper, Sniper and Conservationist.

English by birth, he emigrated to Canada, where he assumed the name of Grey Owl and the persona of a member of the Ojibwa. Author of numerous books on conservation.

I’ve been fascinated by Archie Belaney’s story for some time now. The last post shows a couple of pamphlets for his second tour of the UK in 1937. Picked up from a well known auction website.
