Remembered Today:

Part of glass bottle

Hi everyone,

I walked around Vimy today and found some small items (next to the usual iron stuff). Found a bullet, a few casings, a part of a bone (human or animal?) and also the bottom of a glass bottle.

I assume it's German (because of the cross). I can see a 8. Can not make out what the other symbol is. Anyone knows what this bottle was used for?

Thank you!

The bone appears to have been cut so I would assume it is from an animal.

good morning,

The bone is animal because it is cut cleanly.
In view of the green color on it, it must come from a trash can because it has been in contact with copper.

The piece of bottle is English here is a copy that I made in the field:

the latter contained sauce type "HP SAUCE" to enhance the ordinary of the soldier.
