Alexander McLean Posted 27 March , 2023 Share Posted 27 March , 2023 Hello, Josh - Everything about your sling looks genuine to me - the wear on metal, thread, and leather. I have seen examples both with and without the cross-hatching. I have never seen a dated example before, but normal use would usually wear off such markings, especially if the markings were lightly struck. These slings are quite scarce and expensive, since most G-98 rifles lack slings. Regards, Torrey
josh2345678 Posted 27 March , 2023 Author Share Posted 27 March , 2023 Hi ,Torrey thanks for your opinion I just think that there are so many copies out there that are good copies some of them. Having the date stamped like that I just don't know if its to good to be true. Regards josh
