Remembered Today:

British outpost June 15, 1918

Sorry, but I didn't know in which section to insert a discussion given the presence of various types of found objects.

Today I managed to find one of the outposts among those that first suffered the Austrian attacks on June 15 1918

I didn't find much but that little gave me satisfaction

A nice little English box (as soon as it's cleaned I'll post the photo), a couple of light branded buttons underneath (shirt?), a small brass button (official cap?)

A Webley London flare pistol shell and a pair of .303 rounds with no nose cones for rifle bombs

I wanted to clarify that each object found is authorized through a Veneto regional permit which is obtained after a training course and subsequent authorization through an association registered in the Veneto region

And so on the lid of the little box found yesterday after a bath in oxalic acid, I honestly didn't think it would look so good

Flavio,

A good morning's work! The shoe polish lid has come out well.

I hope that you can show us some more photos of the objects, "after clean-up".

Regards,

JMB

Hey! @JMB1943Yes the glossy lid compared to how I found it came out really well as you say too, the oxalic acid brought it back almost to its former glory, now a little transparent glossy spray paint and it will be finished.Tomorrow I will post the photos of the English branded buttons, while the button which I assume could be from an official hat I left it in the condition of discovery but I'll see if I can put the measurements so maybe it's possible to be more precise on its actual use

Here are the clean buttons (I never wear objects as new so as not to compromise the patina of time, let's say I remove the crusts)

The rounded brass button measures practically 1.5 cm

The other two have two different manufacturers
