Remembered Today:

Imperial Service Tablet /Badge

I met a group of re-enactors dressed in 1st WW uniform while I was out cycling recently.

Interesting group with various uniforms of family relatives etc.

One had an Imperial Service Tablet/Badge up and it got me wondering when the individual soldier stopped wearing this.

When they landed abroad?

When they left UK shores?

When told off for service abroad?

I wonder if soldiers who didn't go overseas immediately (underage?) continued to wear them (at least for photographs) for some time. i think I asked this about an underage man many years ago.

Thank you. I don't think I ever resolved any of those questions.
