trooper23 Posted 14 March , 2023 Share Posted 14 March , 2023 I met a group of re-enactors dressed in 1st WW uniform while I was out cycling recently. Interesting group with various uniforms of family relatives etc. One had an Imperial Service Tablet/Badge up and it got me wondering when the individual soldier stopped wearing this. When they landed abroad? When they left UK shores? When told off for service abroad?
Admin RussT Posted 14 March , 2023 Admin Share Posted 14 March , 2023 I think a soldier would have removed it, and left it safely at home, just before proceeding overseas. Regards Russ
rolt968 Posted 14 March , 2023 Share Posted 14 March , 2023 I wonder if soldiers who didn't go overseas immediately (underage?) continued to wear them (at least for photographs) for some time. i think I asked this about an underage man many years ago.
