Remembered Today:

Is this little fella wearing real or toy medals?

This young man was born in 1909 and his father and grandfather were soldiers in the first war.  I have long since established their regiment and service.  They were Jesse Fairbrother and Joseph Fairbrother Royal Warwickshires and an uncle who was Kia Alfred Fairbrother.  These could well be toy medals with the uniform but I was looking at the dark one with hardly an image on our right looking at the photo.  It has a slight look of 14-15 star I think!  Any comments please so I can let the grandson of this young Fairbrother know.  Thank you!

I am wondering if they/some are Temperence awards/'medals' = ???

I think they are likely to be 'real' rather than toy.

Widening my speculation - could they be Masonic?

As not in the membership of either I am only putting forward a couple of punts - I hope not red-herrings.

They are not military medals, perhaps Masonic as @museumtom indicates.

That is a great help.  I did think I could see crossed swords on the lower one but perhaps not.  However, many thanks because we are a step further than earlier today!  Thanks everyone indeed.

Correction to birth date this Leslie Joseph Fairbrother was born 1936, his father Leslie william was born around 1909.  Not that it makes much difference just wanted to record correctly.
