ianshuter Posted 9 March , 2023 Share Posted 9 March , 2023 I am researching Lt Gilbert Richard Barnard of the 1st Cape Corps who died of malaria at Ranger's Corner - see gist of message - on 22 Jul 1918. He is listed on the Tidmington War Memorial https://www.swfhs.org.uk/index.php/war-memorial-transcriptions/war-memorial-transcritions-s-z/tidmington-wm (click the name) To finalise the page for him (see link above) I am trying to find the location of Ranger's corner. I have found Beit Nuba which is a village about 28km NW of Jerusalem, any help would be gratefully received.
Eran Tearosh Posted 9 March , 2023 Share Posted 9 March , 2023 (edited) Hi From the Cape Corp's history: Ain Arik is a bit west of Ramallah. Although Ranger's Corner is not mentioned on the following map, its almost certain its the junction in the center. The text refers to Ain Arik as the Cape Corp's camping place, however, the road from the North-West is Ranger's Road.
