robin bird Posted 6 March , 2023 Share Posted 6 March , 2023 An ebay advert for a WW1 leather flying jacket has just prompted this off the cuff post. The jacket looks almost identical to the one I was given many man years ago by the owner who said it was WW1. I used the coat while driving my old MG but it has been hanging up in a cupboard since. So my question is could it be one, or a chauffeur's coat. I believe at the start of the Great War flying coats were not always stamped as military issue. My example has excellent chrome leather and no damage. Forum feeback appreciated.

robin bird Posted 6 March , 2023 Author Share Posted 6 March , 2023 No problem. I was not asking about authenticity of the coat(s), mine is nor for sale anyway. I just wondered if this type of coat was worn.?
