BillyH Posted 4 March , 2023 Share Posted 4 March , 2023 This sailor left the Navy 'under a cloud' so to speak. Can anyone explain what the attached clipping means? especially the SALR part. I can see the second bit says Value of kit to be (pursued?) BillyH.
KizmeRD Posted 4 March , 2023 Share Posted 4 March , 2023 SNLR = services no longer required. MB
horatio2 Posted 4 March , 2023 Share Posted 4 March , 2023 The reference is to a communication from the Admiralty, Naval Law (NL) Division whuch "Approves [the] discharge SNLR [as described by @KizmeRD] . Value of kit is to be pursued [I agree]." I assume this administrative discharge follows a poor disciplinary record. The discharge SNLR was not a punishment. KizmeRD Posted 4 March , 2023 Share Posted 4 March , 2023 Not a punishment, just a realistic appreciation that continued retention wasn’t really in anyone’s best interests (i.e. more trouble than he was worth). MB
