Remembered Today:

Telegraphist sub-ratings WRA and CWA

Hello. Can anyone tell me what the abbreviations "WRA" and "CWA" stand for in the context of telegraphist sub-ratings late in WW1? Please see image attached. The sailor was on Q-11 Tamarisk when first appointed to these sub-rates, but retained CWA on several subsequent vessels or shore establishments. Grateful for any help.

CWA = Cabinet Watchkeepers Allowance:-

Cabinet Watchkeepers allowance - Ordinary and Boy Telegraphists
And whereas we are of opinion that the responsibilities undertaken by Ordinary and Boy Telegraphists of Your Majesty's Navy who are employed as Cabinet Watchkeepers, are such as to warrant the payment to them of an allowance additional to their pay :

We beg leave humbly to submit that Your Majesty may be graciously pleased, by Your Order in Council, to sanction the payment, as from the, 1st October, 1915, and during the period of the present War, of an allowance of 6d. per diem to Ordinary Telegraphists, and of 3d. per diem to Boy Telegraphists, while regularly employed as Cabinet Watchkeepers in main or auxiliary wireless offices of Your Majesty's Ships.

The WRA is probably a badly written WKA, Watch Keeper's Allowance.
