Terry H Posted 8 February , 2023 Share Posted 8 February , 2023 I am trying to find the exact location of casualty clearing station no 41 at Duisans, France in May 1917, as my wife's great uncle died there and is buried in the cemetery at Duisand. Admin RussT Posted 8 February , 2023 Admin Share Posted 8 February , 2023 Here's a couple of suggestions to get you going: 1) Have a look at the 41 CCS War Diary to see if they self identify their location for the period of interest. 2) CCS came under Army orders. So find the Army it was in at the time, then have a look at the War Diary for the Director of Medical Services for that Army - quite often that Diary will provide map coordinates for the CCS, which you can then plot in Trench-Mapper. Admin RussT Posted 8 February , 2023 Admin Share Posted 8 February , 2023 Even simpler: This CWGC link gives you the map for the location of the cemetery - and also tells you that 41 CCS was located there at the time.
