philary Posted 4 April , 2005 Share Posted 4 April , 2005 Hello everyone For those who have helped me find out the circumstances around my Great Uncle's service in The Great War, I have managed to put all the details on my website! http://www.philary.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Gunner%20Davis.htm I was lucky enough to obtain 2 letters written by him, one just before he was sent over to France and the second written 13 days before his death - not easy reading! A very big thank you must go to all the "pals" who gave me so much help and information so freely, keep up the good work! What I have found most moving has been the effect on the family, especially his son, who never knew his father. Hilary
shaymen Posted 4 April , 2005 Share Posted 4 April , 2005 Excellent Stuff Nice to see it all come to fruition - Who to research next, I suppose ? Glyn
philary Posted 4 April , 2005 Author Share Posted 4 April , 2005 Hello Glyn Thanks for your response, My next piece of research is Leslie Sutton - Army Service Corps and my maternal grandfather who was in the Royal Navy and served from 1902 through to 1924! I've been collecting postcards of his ships! I suppose this will mean more trips to Kew! Hilary
