Thank you. Lyn. @roselyn2 If you would like to provide his full name and if known, date of birth or year of birth, a search could be made on various databases. Admin Michelle Young Posted 24 January , 2023 Admin Share Posted 24 January , 2023 If they died, Soldiers Died In The Great War. Available in book form regimental volumes or I think on Ancestry.
Allan1892 Posted 24 January , 2023 Share Posted 24 January , 2023 The most common way to try and find the birth place of men that served in WW1 is by the 1911 Census (and double check his declared place by looking at the 1901 Census). Census returns are held on the main two sites, Find My Past and Ancestry, both subscription sites but are often free to use at you local library. Allan1892 Posted 24 January , 2023 Share Posted 24 January , 2023 Meant to add that the Census returns are available free of charge on FamilySearch, a free site run by the Church of the Later Day Saints. Links to the 1911 and 1901 Census below England and Wales Census, 1911 • FamilySearch England and Wales Census, 1901 • FamilySearch
